This is the final part of Marian Bruce’s ‘Angel’ trilogy. Admission is free and there is a live word event 6.30 and 7.30 on Saturday. PRINTMAKING DEMONSTRATION THE WORKSHOP, 4 EAGLE LANE Sat 3 July, 2pm Steven Clarkson, an experienced lithographic artist, printer and tutor, is giving a demonstration and talk to show the development of lithography from its first use on stone to its application today using photographic methods. Bath Artist Printmakers is holding a workshop for children (aged 7 years
and over) using letterpress woodblocks, which allow children to experience
simple printmaking.
Groups of six children in one-hour sessions, booking essential. SARAH GODSILL NINE BAR, CATHERINE HILL 9am–5.30pm Sarah Godsill is a figurative painter. She created a job for herself as a ‘wedding illustrator’, whereby she draws the day’s events from the bride getting ready, to the dancing – work that has taken her all over the UK. The ability to capture fleeting moments lends itself ideally to recording events such as the Frome festival, which she did for its first two years, showing sketches in a changing exhibition. FUN ART ST MARY’S CHURCH HALL Wed 7 and Thurs 8, 11am–3pm Every week 14 people meet together in St Mary’s Hall to paint pictures. Different materials are used every six weeks. The sessions are run by a professional art teacher who demonstrates and teaches the group. ‘We are a friendly bunch who are going to put up an exhibition for you to see – do come won’t you’. ROY AVIS STUDIO PRINTS, FIRST FLOOR
GALLERY 26 June–10 July, 9am–5.30pm An exhibition of original work and art in print, by internationally recognised loca artist and illustrator Roy Avis. Roy is a highly versatile artist working in many mediums. His work is published in both this county and the US and collected around the world. PAINTING COMPETITION Pictures from the ‘Paint a Picture of Frome’ competition will also be on display in the gallery above during the festival. HEATHER KINGSLEY-HEATH FROM DEBBIE CRIPPS (SHOP) 10am–4pm, Tues-Sat There is an exhibition of beadwork jewellery and sculpture by local bead expert Heather Kingsley-Heath. Anyone calling into the shop can also take part in the hunt the thimble competition! Debbie herself is participating in craft on the hill demonstrating embossing on metal sheets and Wigjig wire work. HISTORY OF PUBLIC HOUSES FROME MUSEUM 10am–2pm throughout the festival In conjunction with the Festival, Frome Museum is mounting an exhibition that explores the history of pubs and brewing in the town and surrounding district. complete the project next to the Merlin

paintings, drawings and stone sculpture
in his studio at Marston House.
