ROOK LANE CHAPEL £2 (accompanied children free) 5.30pm OPENING PROCESSION Frome Festival 2005 opens in splendour when students from the Frome Federation of Schools lead a grand Brazilian Rio–style Carnival Samba procession from St John’s Church to the Cheese and Grain, where they will perform a concert. This is a culmination of workshops with Felix Gibbons, who works extensively on the Rio Carnival. ST JOHN'S CHURCH Free • Event 0102 6.30pm FEAST OF FEDERATION MUSIC This concert will follow the opening procession and will include a showcase item from each school in the area, finishing with a Grand Finale. Before this event, Martin Bax, the Festival Director, will officially open the 2005 festival. CHEESE & GRAIN £6 (£4) • Event 0103 8.30pm MOYA Moya is a fusion of African-jazz, folk and traditional rhythms brought to you from the mountainous Kingdom of Swaziland and the United Kingdom. With Moesha on vocals and Jonathan on guitar; they are joined by some of the UK’s finest musicians. Those attending the Frome Festival last year will recall an unforgettable performance.
