Young Students of Frome take the lead in "Celebrating Somerset" in this years Frome Festival.
Frome Youth Choir, directed by Alan Burgess and Frome Community College Brass Ensemble, directed by Keith Thomas performed an eclectic mix of new and old music in the wonderful setting of St John's Church.
This was an innovative concert with new vocal and choral items composed by members of the Youth Choir under the guidance of Helen Ottaway, Composer in Residence.
The compositions were in a wide variety of styles and were performed with sensitivity by the pure, young voices of the choir. Compositions were contributed by Helen Ottaway, Bradley Wye, Rhiannon O'Neil, Carly Manning, Stephanie Heath, Josie Garrett and Kate Smith, all showing immense talent and musicianship.
Complimenting the choir was the Frome Community College Brass Ensemble who gave a stunning performance showing excellent ensemble skills with exceptional solo items from Owain Carrick and Tom Wigzell.
