| Vieux Farka Touré and Pee Wee Ellis | 19:30 Doors |
World Exclusive for Frome Festival
"Mali has a new guitar god, and his name is Vieux Farka Toure." BluesRag
Vieux Farka Touré, son of Grammy-winning Malian guitarist Ali Farka Touré, brings his full band to Frome for their first UK headline gig. He plays trancey, funky, blues-inflected lead and rhythm guitar with extraordinary expressiveness, virtuosity and flair - desert blues never sounded so fresh. His music subtly bridges the gap between old and new, adding hints of reggae, funk and rock, with an underlying Malian feel. And in a world exclusive, Frome's own Pee Wee Ellis, legendary saxophonist to James Brown, will be joining Vieux for their first ever performance together. African food available to purchase from the African Safari Kitchen, to raise funds for the Mama Africa charity.
Please note this is a standing gig.
This event is sponsored by BiscuitBox Ltd, Café La Strada, Raves from the Grave, Paslode® Spit, Red Star Frome, Anne Furniss.

| Ken Dodd | 19:30 |
Ken Dodd is absolutely discumknockerated (that's Knotty Ash speak for 'over the moon') to be dispensing liberal doses of his legendary tickle tonic at the Frome Festival.
"I know that fabulous Frome audiences love nothing better than a good laugh - and that's just what I'm going to give them!" he says.
"They also want to hear a few songs and have a good night out - and so do I, which is probably why it works!"
"Did you know that a laugh is something that comes out of a hole in your face? Anywhere else and you're in dead trouble!!"
"I still enjoy the 'buzz' of a packed audience laughing their heads off and forgetting all their cares and worries. I enjoy every single minute of being on stage - and, by jove, they can't touch you for it!"
