Talk: Longleat and its Importance to Frome19:30

LongleatSir John Thynne, of Longleat, acquired estates in West Woodlands and Frome in 1541. The Thynne family held much of it until after the Second World War, and the link between Frome and Longleat continues. Michael McGarvie will examine the relationship between the estate and the town through the centuries, from leaseholds to lions via politics and rebellion, literature and romance. From 19:00 enjoy a drink in the Secret Garden and take in the splendid views over the formal gardens to Longleat House.

Water's Edge: 20th Anniversary Screening19:30

For the festival, the film is being shown at its original location for the first time, with an introduction by its writer Ashley Pharoah (co-creator of Life on Mars). This special event reunites some of the film's cast and crew, who share their memories and photographs of Orchardleigh's film-location past, and provides a rare chance to tour part of the house.
