Frome Festival 2007 - 6th - 15th July 2007

Frome Festival Highlights

Visual Arts

Frome and the surrounding villages hide a rich variety of unusually talented artists and makers.

This year there are opportunities to see work both in progress in the studio, and showcased in the town's prime exhibition spaces.

At Rook Lane Chapel 'Ground' gives an idiosyncratic response to the land surrounding Frome, from earthworms to nightwalks, by artists based in this area.

The Black Swan showcases work on the theme of the landscape, with exhibitions from local artists and photographers.

The festival includes in its opening weekend the first 'Artists at Work' trail. This is a chance to see the range of contemporary art and craft practice going on in the houses, studios, warehouses and barns of Frome and its environs. Trail maps are available from Black Swan Arts and Rook Lane Chapel, as well as the Library and Tourist Information Centre.

And finally, look out for two- and three-dimensional works, large and small, springing up around the town in some unexpected places.
