Now in its sixth year, Frome Festival Summer School has broken new ground in bringing together singers from all over the south and west in one amazing weekend, peforming challenging works with professional tuition, good soloists and a top class young orchestra. Previous works, all conducted by Bath Philharmonia’s Jason Thornton, have included Carmina Burana, the Berlioz, Verdi and Brahms Requiems and Elgar The Dream of Gerontius. For the last two years the Summer School has toured to Germany and France following the successful debuts at Frome Festival.

This year, to avoid a clash with other Frome Festival events, the Summer School has moved away from the usual July weekend to the late May Bank Holiday. The School has also outgrown the Cheese & Grain in Frome and moves to the exciting venue of Wells Cathedral to perform Bach Mass in B minor. With the fantastic Amadeus Orchestra, exceptional young soloists Elenor Bowers-Jolley, Jeanette Ager, Robert Gardiner and Gavin Carr, and the atmospheric new venue, this year’s Summer School performance will be unmissable.
